Duties & Responsibilities

Programming new boards for automated SMT machine (Universal machine) using DPO and VPLAN.
Program and Support the AOI.
Program and Support the X-ray.
Provides training and support as needed.
Trouble shoots and interfaces between SMT operator and appropriate departments.
Support the SMT lines.
Learn basic Planned & unplanned maintenance.
Review PSAs, CIPs, QWIs and NPI notes prior to build. Follow special instructions.
Support Top3/Top5 process. We are the second level of escalation. All SMT.
Update CompEng if exception is found with supply form vs. in-house taping instructions and find solutions.
Validate un-documented substitute parts as per component engineering training/spreadsheet (Night Shift).
Assist SMT Set-up with supply form issues. Log these issues in FCD-0231 spreadsheet.
Make decisions in conjunction with SMT Manager and PVO if job is to be removed from the line. Can set-up and be ready for next job.
Review balancing and optimization of the SMT lines based on balancing and optimization guidelines (TBD).
Log support time and actions done based on the established rules.
Analyze downtime entry based on the DMAIC approach. Use Fishbone, 5 Why and other tools.
Actively participate to continual improvement meetings and suggest actions to resolve support issues (X of DMAIC).


Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma preferred, however will consider equivalent experience in electronic manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of component package sizes etc and the ability to access component information on the Internet.
Excellent computer skills
An understanding of SMT machines will be considered an asset.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Must have proven team building & leadership skills.
A demonstrated high level of initiative, attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional and mature attitude.
Dependable & reliable.
